2023 Online Program & Giving Campaign

For over 20 years, Cancer Support Community North Texas (CSCNT) has led the charge to build a vibrant community of cancer survivors and their loved ones. We focus on providing psychosocial support to complement medical treatments to nurture every part of a patient as they learn and grow and recover.

Cancer Support Community North Texas (CSCNT) is excited to kick off 2023 with a new, year-long campaign highlighting the wide variety of free programming we provide for ANYONE touched by a cancer diagnosis, from patients to caregivers, to family and friends.

Fundraising Goal of $40,000

by December 31,2023

Our goal is to raise awareness and funding; to ensure the lifelong continuum of cancer care is provided through our FREE social and emotional community support programming. With any cancer diagnosis come feelings of hopelessness and social isolation. The CSCNT community is a lifeline to strength, hope, support, and guidance with an impact is often life changing.

Q2 HIGHLIGHT

CSCNT Support & Networking Groups

This second quarter the focus is on our CSCNT Support Groups. Getting support when cancer is in your life helps reduce the three most significant stressors associated with cancer: feelings of loneliness, loss of control, and hopelessness. All Support Groups at CSCNT are facilitated by licensed mental health professionals, and our Monthly Networking Groups bring patients with the same diagnosis together to share information and draw support and inspiration from each other. At our warm inviting clubhouses, ANYONE touched by cancer can get involved, find support from those who truly understand, and feel empowered to live life to the fullest.

Groups We Facilitate:

  • Weekly Wellness Groups – for patients in treatment
  • Weekly Family and Friends Groups -for the patient’s caregivers
  • Weekly Metastatic Cancer Support Groups -for those with metastatic disease
  • Bi-weekly Post Treatment Groups – for patients transitioning to long term survivorship
  • Bi-weekly Living with Loss Support Groups -for those who have lost a loved one to cancer
  • Amigos Unidos -a group for Spanish speaking survivors, facilitated in Spanish
  • Breast Cancer Networking Group
  • Neuroendocrine Networking Group

Our activities and events vary based on participants’ requests and interests and programming is held in English and Spanish, both in-person and virtual.

After being introduced to Cancer Support Community North Texas, I was a regular participant, entering the red door for a Monday night support group, the Friday Meditation class and a Pilates class. These were tremendous support for me since I live in Guatemala and was a long way from home. What a blessing the Center was and is for cancer thrivers!

The epic group dinners at the clubhouse are my favorite! This is my extended family, and these gatherings are always warm and fulfilling. I honestly wonder how people cope with a cancer diagnosis without finding a support group to lean on.
