Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Cancer Support Community North Texas. We believe that community is stronger than cancer. With your help, we can ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.
Your gift of time, talent, and energy ensure that our programs remain free of charge for people with cancer and the people who love them. Come join our growing team of volunteers.
We have volunteer needs at all three of our clubhouse locations:
We ask that volunteers commit to at least six months. All volunteers must be 18+ years of age unless they have an adult to accompany them during their volunteering shifts. All volunteers must attend an orientation before they begin their service at Cancer Support Community North Texas.
Be the warm, welcoming voice and face of the clubhouse! Greet people as they come into the clubhouse and answer the phone—this first point of contact for the person with cancer is so important.
Help CSCNT staff to prep, run and wrap up activities at the clubhouse. This includes program set up, greeting members and guests, helping to answer phones, directing visitors, and helping complete or manage special clubhouse projects.
CSCNT has a range of small and large special events, all of which need volunteer assistance. The duties for this position range from helping at event check in, set-up and clean-up, to manning a specific station. Volunteer opportunities vary depending on the specific needs of the unique event.
CSCNT is able to offer so many great healthy lifestyle classes and activities like Yoga, Zumba, Arts & Crafts, etc. thanks to the hard work of our volunteers. If you have a special talent or interest that you would like to share with others, we are always open to new suggestions to add to the calendar. This is usually a 1-1.5 hour commitment that is either weekly, biweekly, or monthly.
Noogieland is our childrens’ programming at our three clubhouses. We offer many opportunities to help with our younger members. This will include events like Noogie Super Saturday, Back to School Bash, Noogie Fest, Noogie Nights and other children specific events. To become a Noogieland volunteer, you must pass a background check and be over 18-years-old.
We have a large and active Spanish speaking community here at CSCNT. If you are bilingual, we would love your help with our Spanish specific events. These opportunities will be included on our monthly newsletter or on an as needed basis.
Let’s get our name out! Outreach volunteers are committed to sharing our mission with the community. Tasks for this role include, but are not limited to, tabling at local events, handing out flyers, sharing our messaging on social media, etc.
