With the advent of modern refrigeration, global shipping and year round harvesting of crops, this age old preservation method was all but pushed aside. Teresa Day-Fickel, CPA and Master Gardener believes it’s worth reviving this wonderful tradition because it’s healthy, delicious, economical, eco-friendly, easy, traditional, and most of all, because it’s fun!
